Mending: A Cesarean Postpartum Group
Come join a virtual circle for cesarean parents to be in community with one another. Mending is facilitated by three doulas from the East River Doula Collective. Together we have supported hundreds of folks through birth and postpartum with openness, humor, and zero judgements! Our vision for this group is to create a safe, loving space for sharing, listening and building connections. Come with your questions, challenges and triumphs!
This 6-week virtual support group is for people recovering from Cesarean Birth. We meet on Thursdays at 11am EST for one hour. Each week is (very loosely) themed so we have a jumping off point for our conversations. We talk about postpartum recovery and healing, lactation & feeding, baby developmental milestones, sleep, being at home in your (new) body, finding childcare, navigating new relationship dynamics with partners and family, and birth stories. Generally speaking, this group is geared for parents 0-4 months postpartum, but we aren’t strict about this.
We’ve set a suggested donation of $120 for all six weeks. We will be donating a portion of the total proceeds to MamaBaby Haiti, a non-profit working to lower the maternal and neonatal mortality rate in Haiti, receipt of which will be sent to group participants for accountability. The rest is split equally amongst us.
Upcoming session dates are:
March 7th- April 11th
May 9th- June 13th
